To align stakeholders and build consensus and capacity to strengthen civil registration system and adopt standardize method for cause of death ascertainment, promote analysis and use of mortality data to inform policy for local planning and evidence-based decision making.

Of mortality surveillance including comprehensive mortality surveys.
Developing a model for implementation of Verbal Autopsy (VA) through the health system.
Development of integrated mortality systems including robust dashboards and analytics.
Provision or development of Digital VA tools and integrated coding platforms.
Rolling out comprehensive State-level MCCD training platforms.
Strengthening Hospital mortality systems (eMor & Mortality Audit, ICD coding).
Generating accurate Mortality estimates at both state and district levels.
Training in the practical use of mortality data for targeted policy and action.
Training in the conduct and detailed analysis of VA and Social Autopsy.
Comprehensive quality assurance protocols including at field and data processing levels.
Consortium Members
The Consortium draws its members from many major national and international institutions of repute.
Any person from any institution working in the area of mortality can apply for membership. Membership does not replace or limit members' existing mandates, programmes, or activities. Consortium membership is non-exclusive. Members remain free to pursue independent research, partnerships, and funding opportunities.
